just chillin

We did a bunch of just chilling this weekend.
It was awesome. No driving, no schedule, not
enough time! We did manage to get a long ass
bike ride to the g-store, pet store and the hippy
market...we also some how managed to route
the ride so that both directions were uphill
(in the snow).

Friends and neighbors came out for some bbq,
poker and sun...it was super perfect weather
so building the addition to the lizard cage never
happened. as if it doesn't get the run of the house anyhow.
Helped a friend move out and got lots of free crap we
are now trying to sell on craigslist...anyone need a tv?
skateboard? fan? lamp? table?....online garage sale.

FYI - He has no room for any of these things in his
two bags...he just bought a one way ticket back home
to canada. need a bmx bike? the list goes on and on...
get this shit out of our micro one bedroom place!!!!!!!!

San Diego got some super fun surf today, so i had to go for a surf
to celebrate! super fun waves! sunny and beautiful today too!

santa barbara weekend

This weekend we made the treck up to SB to see K's old college
friend Jen. The drive there is beautiful...I never had the chance to
see big sis' house in Camarillo but now I know why she liked
the area so much.

J is an iphone freak! She checked her face book, or other peoples
face book, no fewer than 10,000 times. She could be in mid sentence,
we could be in mid sentence, ha ha J, you crack me up with that phone.
Not that me and my email checking self is completely innocent!
Just makes me wonder about my big sis and all of her blogging
updates via iphone! makes me laugh! Blogger recognized iphone,
its iPhone.


On the way home we stopped and looked at possible wedding
locations....way more nopes then yeps, but we did see some
bad ass places and got a few good ideas.

We had dinner by the water one night. The best crab cakes ever!

came back home to rainy coldness. Today is sunny coldness,
but I guess cold is all relative. This week we finally have 0
plans! stoked to not have plans. Or maybe we might.
We still need to schedule dance lessons and a night to the
theatre. and we need to check out more wedding options.
the list of nothing to do goes on and on...

weekend fun

This weekend we got in a ton of fun in the sun.
We made it out for a surf and a good hike followed
by a poker game & bbq.

Rick D and his soon to b joined in the fun. On the hike back,
R&I raced (most of the way!). Super fun challenge. I haven't run
that far in ages....

Yesterday afternoon I was finally able to make it back out in the water
for a quick surf with a couple of my buds. After our surf we were walking
down the dog beach back to the car...minding my own business, recounting
the waves we just caught, not paying attention to anything or anyone or
their dog for that matter. Then whack! I took a ball to the nuts. Some lady
totally threw a ball for her dog and hit me good. While i'm on my knees
gagging my friend and a couple other guys that saw are laughing their heads
off. Then some little kid who couldn't have been older then 4 or 5 came
running up to me..."OH MAN ARE YOU OK???" he was super cute.
The lady on the other hand, stood there with her hands on her head
"i'm sorry, i'm sorry, i'm sorry......"I think she musta been a little scared
or something because she kept her distance.

it reminded me of "Are you OK old dude?" (remember that PJ?)

Then last night we had some snacks and drinks with K's new crew...all very cool and
friendly. I think we even found a preacher!

so poof. it's gone...until i can figure out how to convert the

on another note. I HATE SPRING FORWARD. getting up at 5
is one thing, but when 5 changes to 4...WTF? it's no fun. and i had
no problem getting up at 5.

mammoth & june mountains

this weekend we were able to get two days of snowboarding in!
we did a day at mammoth mountain and a day at june mountain.
if you don't know they are both here in cali. and they both have
received more snow than colorado...we invited you, so it's your
loss for not coming! ha! the week before last the mountains
here got 10 feet...yes that's FEET of snow. then on monday
they got 2 more feet, then on wednesday they got 2 more feet,
then on thursday...well you get the picture I won't rub it in too
much, but it was epic! mothering f-ing epic!!! did i say it was epic?
we had so many fresh tracks, it will make you sick if i even try to
explain...ha...it was E.P.I.C.


anyways it was non stop action and these are two of the three pictures
that we found time to take. I was super bummin I forgot the helmet cam
because i saw some old dude on the mountain with the same cam (we swapped
stories).

now it's recovery time. drive all night, ride all 2 days and

drive all night again. some funny stuff happened at the mountains,

but i'll save those stories for another day.

ok so my converting program (dvd to avi) is just a trial program...
so i guess it only converted part of the video. I'll work on getting
the entire video posted. until then you can watch the first half.

it's scary how much difference there is....looks like I almost get sucked into

my chute, like I didn't pay attention to my instructions!!!!

ceader creek falls

Yesterday we did a hike out of our "a foot & a field" book.
We went to Ceader Creek Falls. Super cool, and super stoked
that we had our friends with us...especially TA because they
have done this hike before and knew all kinds of shortcuts
to get to the falls. Also, because of the recent heavy rain
SD has had, the falls were raging. I think the falls are fed
from the the snow melt up north because the water was
freeeezing.

There are a few more falls in the area that we
need to go check out...next time.
Some dumb as% doused himself in lighter fluid, lit him self on fire
and jumped in. Pretty funny and dumb, and also a bummer for water
quality. I would show you a picture of it, but unfortunately my better half
asked/demanded I don't show it...The water fall.



The way there is all down hill. Yeah uphill! Tired and the looong way.
