Time Flys...

We have officially lived in Cali for a month already...WOW, time flew by.

For the holidays, we flew to CO for a whirlwind of a trip. Lots of
family and friends and food...we're happy to be home safe and snow free.
Kimberly is bumin' because we didn't get a chance to snowboard during
the trip (well we could have gone but it was a steamy -25 wind chill),
so for her birthday we are starting to plan a trip to Mammoth mountain.

This photo is actually from the Thanksgiving festivities, but Christmas
does not look much different...

Christmas Party

We came home to great sunny California weather and the lost
ark (the last piece of the grill)!!! I spent the rest of the day
putting it together and that night we fed half of the complex.
Everyone was stoked and it was fun to get to know our neighbors.
[the grill works great, but charbroil still sucks!]

Maggie was in Sacramento visiting her family for the holidays and
decided to come visit for a few days. The last time we saw M was
while we were with Mom in NY for the EMS bike ride. While M was
in Bali she met a guy from Cali who live near her parents house. He
was heading to Ocean Beach this weekend too and caught a ride with
M. Turns out he was coming to visit a friend from Corpus Christi too.
Small world. We lit up the grill and made some more friends.
Last night they invited us over for dinner and we made some more friends.
We've made more friends here then we have made all year. Everyone is supper
friendly.

char-broil sucks

Living in Cali you don't have extra space. anywhere. for anything.
So you can bet we were excited when we came home yesterday and
found the grill tool kit on our doorstep (we bought a grill over week
ago and it didn't come with screws). Today I wanted so badly to put
the damn thing together and use it tonight...but when I got to step
11 there is not a "heat shield" in the box. Fuck.
So I called the grill people again and Abdul set up the shipment for
the missing peace and told me it would be here in another 7-10 days.
are you kidding me? Can I pick it up? Nope. So I asked him to overnight
my missing puzzle piece and "foot the bill". Manager time.

Manager Teressa wasn't much help either. If fact she tried to turn it around
on me by telling me that it was my fault I didn't have my part already because
I didn't inventory each piece...so theoretically I could have noticed it was
missing and had it shipped with my missing screws. I tried to explain to
her that there was no way I could inventory each piece of the grill because
it exceeds the square footage of my living room and kitchen combined...
there was no reasoning with Teressa...

...7 to 10 more

Next grill you buy DON'T make it a char-broil.

busted!

I went surfing last Tuesday or Wednesday, the day before it got big.
It was my first time to surf real waves in a few years and even get
on my board in a few months. Anywho, some dude got a video of my
first wave out! With music and all...

enjoy ( but don't blink)

miscalculation

Another wet weekend...the friends and neighbors all tell
us it hasn't rained for 4 months. Sure enough it rained
both Friday and Saturday. So yesterday when I rode
with Kimberly to work (or half way to work) we happened
to ride by the beach and I was able to check the surf.
Glassy, offshore and only 6 people out. But it just rained.
I thought better and went home. After pacing around for
the next hour I decided to walk back to the beach for
another look. 15 people out and Firing! Had to do the
surf/water quality calculation and it passed. Surfed for 2 hours
and froze my ass off. Woke up this morning feeling groggy...
head kinda hurts...ear kinda hurts...pollution sucks.

lunch break

Today the surf was only about half the size as yesterday, and
it's about twice as windy...still some mackin' waves out there.
K-town was able to come home for lunch so we went to the beach
and took these pictures.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. With that said,
these pictures are worth less the time it took me type this.

The whole town shows up when the waves get big...

dude

Finally made it out in the water yesterday. Stephen and crew
picked me up and took me to sunset cliffs. Pretty much firing!
A few feet overhead and not the super crowds typically associated
with socal surfing. I surfed until I was exhausted and then it
was time to make my exit...they call it cliffs for a reason.
(Suz and Paul would have been proud.) You paddle in until
you are between a cliff and a boulder; ditch your board and
find a couple of finger holds in the bolder. wait for a wave to lift
you up and slowly crawl your way up (only stopping to grab
your leash rope so your board doesn't get banged up). Pretty
much the same thing as bouldering, only in the water and the
rock is covered with algae.

The surf is pretty much epic today. I'm swamped with work and
Kimberly is at work. Hopefully I can squeeze in a lunch sesh.

Sears sucks: (but don't tell them until they send me my screws).
We ordered a grill online, picked it up at the store and brought it
home. unpacked all 1000 pieces of it and went to town...only to
find out town didn't get us past page one because the kooks forgot
to include the screw box. Now they won't let us exchange or pick
up the screws...we have to wait 4-6 days to get them in the mail.
WTF we wanted to grill last week.

haven't surfed yet...

...have you?

Sooo...we have...unpacked, put up, rearranged, modified and
poof; we're done. It was a long couple of days, and a lot has
happened...Kimberly started her new job. On her second day
of work she helped transport a few thousand fish (I want to
say 20K but it might have been more like 50K) during the day and then
helped me finish moving that night. Kimberly is now riding her

bike to work. We were able to get the internet hooked up on time,
the first night here (which is more than I can say about the landlord/
owner/who ever having our house ready on time).

I know you know, but did you know that you can't
go in the ocean for 72 hours after it rains? I'm sure you
already know this, at least I did, but holy shit, literally,
you can't go surfing for 72 hours after it rains. I think
this is the calculation to use when deciding to go surfing
after it rains: (time after it stopped raining X surf quality).
Luckily it still sucks today. Wednesday is supposed to be HUGE.
surfline.com is calling for it to be 15 ft and epic...I wonder what
the surf is doing in Texas...not.

Oh-yeah Kimberly went and checked out the golds gym on
arena blvd today (body pumpen it up). This golds claims to be one
of the largest gyms in the U.S....

pics to come

We made it! We finally made it!
Sunny Colorado waited until the day before
moving day to turn cold and white. It must have
snowed close to a foot which is no good for moving
trucks. which was not good for us. We had to park
the truck at the bottom of the driveway and shuttle
all of our stuff down in trucks...fun times moving to
and from Colorado.

Anywho, 16 hours to Phoenix and then another 7 to
Cali, and here we are (on the floor at Stephen and Sarah's
house). They hooked us up with a parking spot by parking
both of their cars and one of their friend's car in a row on the
street. Big City Life.

Haven't made it to the beach or our new house yet, but I'll
post plenty of pictures after we do...

wait a minute

The grass was green yesterday, but not today.

I don't know what happened last night while we were sleeping
but everything is covered with snow this morning...even my truck
(which by the way has never been covered in snow)!

my poor toy has to stay outside...

can you tell we're excited???

Penskee Trucks

When we moved to Colorado we looked at reserving a Penskee truck
online. I went through all of the forms and gave them all kinds of information,
but didn't confirm any of the quotes. A day went by and they sent me an email.
They want to save us about 50 bucks. Another day went buy and I got a
phone call. Penskee offered to take about 4oo bucks off the best quote
(from $1200 to about $800). Deal!

So now that we're moving to San Diego, we went back online. Got a quote, but
didn't reserve. Got the $50 off email. Next day got the phone call offering to
give us the truck and trailer for about 350 bucks (instead of $480). Deal! Then
two days later they called and asked to change the pickup location. OK fine.
What's in it for me? Now we get the T&T for 235 bucks total. I don't know
if you have ever had to rent one of these trucks for a long distance drive, but
if you have I bet you paid at least double. Stoked.

Can't believe it's GO time! We have all our things packed, internet lined up,
and a place to stay Sunday night with my friend Stephen. Did I mention
the swell forecast for next week? Shacka bro! Did I mention our house is
only 1.5 blocks to the beach? Gnarly Dude! Ha

Tuesday, November 13, 2007

I purposely left this post untitled because I can't think of
a title good enough (I hope there are not multiple spellings
of left (on my left or I left this) because my big sis might make
fun of me again). Shit I hope I used the correct there or their or
they're? Well, we sent in our applications for a new place and have
been waiting to here back...calling the real estate company multiple
times every day. Several people want this place. Finally I had to
call the 'dude' and tell him what's good for him, and well, he agreed!
Our new little home. All 500 sq feet of it. 1.5 blocks to the beach!
Ocean beach! Surf's up dude! Ha. And less than 2 miles to Kim's
work! F yeah! (you know I have to throw in the vulgarities to
keep everyone as excited as we are)

Casa de' CK-all day

If you're hip enough you might think CK stands
for Calvin Klein...but even he is not cool enough.

represent fool

here comes the sun

well, the sun just hasn't left. sunny Colorado is unusually
hot for this time of year. I'm not complaining, but we were
hoping to catch a couple good days snowboarding before our
trip to southern California at the end of the month. not this time.
honestly, we have been so busy working, re-packing, and trying
to find a place to live that we haven't had time to miss the snow
yet! good thing we have a different kind of riding to look forward
to when we hit the ocean!

cat nap

My buddy Pancho sent some more picks from Iraq. Actually
his mommy sent them to me ( Thanks Tina! Keep em' coming).
I don't know where in Iraq he is (other than obviously a shower)
or when he is coming home, but he always seems to be happy
and f-ing off in every picture he sends. It's good to see the boys
can still find time for some fun. I don't know if he's hiding from
a bomb or a boss (Pancho likes his naps).

See Pancho or Bobby or Chuck or whatever name pisses you
off the most!...I can support the troops but not the war. I'm no
Hippie you conservative bastard! Send me another email so I
can really talk some smack. That's what good friends are for:
you can disagree on just about anything (political) and still
hang out and always have a good time.

(not for the faint hearted) he aint no saint

But I am. No really one of my good friends called me yesterday
mad as hell. He can never catch a break. Weather its this, or
that or many other things I'm not gonna tell you about, he
just can't catch a break. So Monday morning his 8 year old
niece calls grandma telling her mommy needs help. Long
story short: older bro goes over there and puts his sis in the
tub to wash off the blood and vomit. She had been there
since Sunday night. Now she's in and out of a coma or something.
Only waking for about 30 minutes at a time freaking out, and
then it's lights out. Someone kicked her ass. Big time. And
they don't know who it is. Now instead of going to his new
internship and grad school everyday, he gets to watch the kids.
So he calls me...when I find out who the mother f-er is...blah
blah blah. It sucked to have to be the one to say no no no,
c-mon dude, it just aint worth it, that's what the cops is for.
Now if the situation was turned around and it was my big
sis....when I find out who this was, blah blah blah! Anywho,
it just sucks.

Now on another note: craigs list rocks. weather your selling
something or looking for a place to stay, craigs list rocks.
maybe it doesn't sound as rockin' with no transition after
that story. I'll try to post something happy later today.
Maybe a post without any "aints" or 'cops is' or anything
else that makes me sound like a redneck.

moving costs

we spend every free minute searching for a place to live in san diego. man it's a bummer... everyone wants a million bucks for a 400 sq ft studio apartment. who the f can we fit in
400 sq ft? lets calculate some sq footage.... so we have 4 surfboards totalling about 30 sq ft.
now were down to 470. we have two snow boards about 10 sq ft. down to 460. two bikes about
15 sq ft. down to 450. a bed 24 sq ft. down to 426. a table and chairs? this is making me sick.
that's all we can take. we've got washers, dryers, dining tables, book shelves, cabinets, tv's, camping gear, and and and. and every place only comes with 1 parking space! ha

caller.com

Already homesick I went to one of my favorite newspaper
websites (caller.com) who had an article about a tarpon
fishing tournament that took place in south padre last week.
I clicked on the link only because one of my best friends went
there to help tag the tarpons caught. anywho i the photo
gallery had some picks of this stud, with no photo credit.

So pictured below is Jason Williams and crew...

pick two

Caimee if you talk to J, tell him he needs to check out these picks.
I hope your doing well and you are still in Kimberly and my thoughts.
We wish we could have been there too. We love you and hope to see you
sometime soon.

CO to CA

well we made it back to colorado...we had a good drive down.
it was sad leaving texas this time, because this time I knew
we are not coming back...it was great to get to know my mom,
sister, niece and nephew (all of which I haven't had a chance to
live my adult live with). I miss you guys already.
we're going to stay in CO until after Thanksgiving and then
it's off to sunny California! San diego, or what's left of it anyways.
We'll continue to keep everyone updated with our crazy schedule.

ok later

Happy Halloween

It's a bummer we didn't get many trick or treaters last night,
because I had all kinds of good tricks set up. When Suzy
brought her kids over I pulled out a bag of spinach and the
kids immediately retreated back to her...until I pulled out the
candy...Then they bum-rushed me!

Growing up I always thought my big sis was a witch...
A happy witch and her goblins

So the company started sending out picks from last weekend.
There weren't many good ones, in fact I don't know why you
would send out even 1/10 of the pictures they sent me, but
they did, so here are the good ones....brace your self.

Part of the crew warming up for dinner. This pick was shortly
after we got to NO and just before dinner...

Now you can finally see everyone I work with...

Halloween

We spent the second half of last week in LJ at the Pop's
house. It's always fun to go home for a few days.
Kimberly and I did the annual drive to the jetties at
Surf Side beach. It was a beautiful day and I was telling
K all about my high school marine bio class and how cool the
teacher was (she surfed, let me miss class to surf, and let
me surf before/after our field trips to the beach). Then
we started seeing kids from my school and finally my teacher!
she was so cool, gave us both hugs and told us about all the
cool things the school and her have been doing. super cool.

Friday we caught our flight to the big easy. Where we
literally ran into my coworkers at the airport. did you
know it has been over 8 months since I last saw my boss?
how cool is that? technology is awesome. Of course their first
questions were directed to K...asking what she's been up to!
job in Cali, potential for Oregon...ha! they didn't even seem
shocked! Charlie was super nice and congratulatory! Although
he kept looking at me like "aaand"! HA! So now my work has
been officially warned that something big is about to happen.
I look forward to working for them from where ever we live...
Hawaii? Costa Rica? get that resume in the mail Kim.

We ate lots of good food, drank lots of good drinks and smelt
that nasty Bourbon street smell! If you've been there, you know
what I'm talkin' bout.

What the hell was the deal with those Rockies? come on, all we wanted
was at least one win.

Caimee we're thinking about you!

blog talk

blog talk is kinda like text messaging.
got something to say but don't necessarily
want to talk...Ha
don't worry suzy when we save enough money
in oregon we'll head south to cali for some defrost time.
i guess that's IF K gets the yob.
LJ kickin' it at the coffee shop.
the strangest place on earth.
IT VACATION TIME

Tuesday, October 23, 2007

The countdown continues

Wow time flys. Can't believe it's almost move time.
Tomorrow we head to LJ. Friday we fly to the 'big
easy' for the anual company trip. Sunday we come
back to Austin. Then next Thursday or Friday we
head somewhere. If only the answer could be found
in the stars; that would make things easier.
Tomorrow wish Kimberly luck: she has her interview
for the Oregon job. Never thought I would say this,
and I might actually have to delete it so it can't ever
be used against me, but I prefer she gets this one over
the Cali job. FYI the cali job is already in the bag.
So we could be in Cali, Oregon or Colorado in less than
two weeks....

definitely gonna miss this little bugger

E-Rock - granite gripper

Friday night we went out with Troy and Becca. I tried to
convince them to go to Arabic night at some club down town,
but they weren't havin' it. So the only alternative? bowling!
In case you didn't know Kimberly is a secret pro; winning
50% of games played or bowled or whatever.
Yesterday we drove with mom to meet the Johnson family
at Enchanted rock. they we're all competing in a rock climbing
comp called the Granite Gripper. We hiked up and down and all
around but no actual "rock climbing" so to spell.

Ret got 1st place in her division! winning all kinds of things mom
couldn't understand on the phone (we split way before the ceremonies
started)...

Kimberly got mad at me and wouldn't come down from
this rock. Bad choice of escape rocks if you ask me.
No where to go.

OK actually she climbed up there for a photo.

Like this one...

Mom keeping us on the right path...

We almost stepped on this dude

After summiting E rock we hung with the kiddos for a bit.
Then PJ took us back to the top for a little cave exploring.
This photo is actually pretty deep in the cave. I told everyone
to turn off their lights for a photo, but we ended up with a
"see no evil" cyclops pic. the spelunking crew...

I spotted this little bat hanging on one of the walls.
How the hell are you supposed to aim the camera
in the dark? I couldn't tell what the camera was focusing
on...so you get a blurry bat pic.

i wonder...

I wonder how people stumble on our blog? Or anyone's
for that matter. Clustermaps is 'da bomb'. Ever since I
put the title Saddam's Palace, we've added two new locations
on our cluster map. Pancho is that you? When one of our friends
is in another country, it's funny because you can tell that they checked
out the blog while on vacation or work (i.e. the LeRoys in Hawaii and Maggie
in Indo). Now about these two new locations...I can't tell exactly where they
are: Iran? Iraq? Dubai? Kuwait? Saudi Arabia? I can't tell which exactly.
Pretty cool shit.
Also, can you believe how much CK-all day has done in the past 8 months?
I went scrolling back through the past, and damn we've done alot. It's supper
cool to have this online photo album that you can scroll through.

Oh-yeah I get my laptop back today! No more Flintstones for me.

holy #&!%

ok ok ok stop the presses...or start em'...er maybe this is the
press. CK-some what daily press. We've had this old ass disposal
camera that's been in the car for as long as we've known each other.
I don't know why we bought it, but it was worth the cash. This camera
came through when we didn't (meaning we forgot the real cam and found
this between the seats). When we made it back to Austin, there it was
in the side door. two picks left. So now we finally got it developed...

did you know we used to live on the beach???
mermaid sighting in texas!

They travel in pairs???

This photo is from our last trip accross the Port A ferry...
or maybe not.

So do you really think I would say hold the presses for us finding
some crap old camera? damn you must think we're boring.
Kimberly just got accepted for a job in San Diego (details later)!!!
San Diego!!! Who the 'fact' can afford to live there??? Anywho
Kimberly is two for two in the job interview! Now that's impressive.
Who gets every job they interview for? Now that's smarts. They haven't
even seen how cute she is yet. AND She's still waiting to hear back from
the Oregon Job. Damn.

SOOO what's next,we gonna go? we gonna snow?

if it isn't in the blog...

...then it didn't happen...at least that's what Suzy keeps
tellin' me. We went camping with the fam at Bastrop
State Park. I think the park is on top of an underground
network of ant caves. With entrances/exits located
at every camp site.

Suz and son took refuge on top of the playground.
Is that an ALL sweat shirt?

We went with Paul and kids fishing at the lake.
I'm not sure that fish even live in that pond. Or
maybe it was our entourage of pugs, kids and Paul!

money fow notin'

Maybe I shouldn't put this up here but I think it's funny...
(never a good start)
Anywho, I got this email from a guy the other week telling
me someone died and blah blah blah he wants to give me the money.
all I have to do is give him some info...phone #, address, my name?,
the works. Because I sit in front of a computer all day, I thought it
would be fun to email him back...my name is Charlie Brown blah
blah blah my number is 867-5309; the works. So now we're onto
email numbero dos...

deposit slip for millions of dollars...

dude that wants to give me the millions...

the dead dude...

proof of dead dude...RIP

Crazy.

Other notable notes (if your still reading)...
- I didn't get the florida keys job (however they were stoked
to tell me I did make it to the top 10% of highly qualified blah blah
blah)

-Kimberly applied for a job yesterday in San Diego. They emailed today
to setup interview numero uno!

-Still waiting to hear back on Kimberly's Oregon job...

-Rockie's won playoff semi finals game one!

-Liefen & Bjorn rock! If it wasn't for them...I wouldn't have this great
monitor and would be digging in dumpsters for some one's old screen.

last minute deals

every day we get a little closers to the move out date...
i'm not even sure we know what that means exactly,
but i think it means crunch time. time to get in all
those last minute activities we thought we had so
much time to do. when we first got to austin we
went out to 6th street almost every night to hear live
music. but for some reason all that came to a halt.
so tonight were taking up noah on an offer to hear
free music (free because he's buying us tickets "since
we never go out and hear live music...i'll hook y'all up").
so hook it up noah. tonight is hiphop night? emo's has
djs? dj michael avery? don't look this dude up...at least
not yet...we'll tell you how it goes!

Sunday, October 7, 2007

after countless hours of technical difficulties the past couple of
weeks, we had to escape from all things computer. so it was
back to pace bend for some r&r.

last time we were here we spied this spot while kayaking.
it has a 300 degree view of water and only enough room
for one tent. probably about as alone as you can get for
state park- car camping.

however, trying to avoid people and trying to get a little closer
to nature, means getting a little closer to this dude.

Not as many ants as last time but spiders everywhere.
this may be the best view on the block, but what you can't
see are the millions of spiders lurking between the all
those leaves...beautiful .

from our site you could swim across a cove to one of the rocks
everyone jumps off. kids will post up all day jumping off that
rock. too bad for these kids; they didn't get to play very long.
about 30 minutes after they showed up, so did the cops. and
then another. then two more. and finally a sheriff (five officers and
four cars total). No underage drinking in this park! I can't wait
for PJ to be one of these guys so I can hear the lowdown on
these types of showdowns...

We had such a great time I think we might have to go back
next week......that is; pending no surf ofcourse

computers suck^2

Yesterday morning I sat down at my computer,
turned it on, grabbed me a fresh cup of coffee
(by the way our families have turned us into
coffee junkies...how did we ever get out of bed
without it?), and started hammering away at
my work. 10 minutes later you could smell smoke...
I know I work hard but could my computer be over
heating? I "googled" the issue and got all kinds of
responses like "leave the room and call the fire dept!"
or "get the hose ready!"...really?

Well shortly after that my computer crashed. And shortly after
that, CompUSA called my cell. You guys are good.
Too good to be true. Those Mother f-ers didn't
call because they telepathically knew my computer had
just died; they called to tell me that they have NOT sent my laptop
off to get fixed. "you got to be fucking kidding me"
I told the geek on the other line, but nope.

Now i'm really pissed. 1) my computer won't turn on.
2) my laptop hasn't left the shelf to get fixed (so I could
have been using it the past two weeks instead of this POS)
3) I now have to call around to get some immediate attention
4) we rely on Computers way too much...no computer = no
work. what year did that start?

Luckily for us the Rockies made the playoffs and most playoff
game take place in the middle of the day. And Lucky for us
the game was on just down the street from the computer shop.

So sometimes things happen for a reason but some reasons
just don't add up. 6000X84X23/2 does not = 1.

Rocks roll on.....

I am always happy when football season rolls around. It means
Fall is here (and snow is close!) and Sportscenter becomes fun to
watch again (Top 10 Plays of the Day are a personal favorite). But
this year, baseball season is headed into extra innings! That's right,
the Colorado Rockies won 14 of their last 15 games to clinch the
NL Wildcard spot in the playoffs, and have been making late-season
baseball damn exciting for Colorado fans.
Going to a Rockies ballgame is always fun (just ask Cy about his new
Rockies socks!). Lots of homeruns, friends, family, peanuts, good beer,
and a bratwurst with grilled onions! Mmmmm....... But the Rockies' 16
year history has only once produced post-season excitement, and it was
short-lived, losing in the first round. This season, the Rox are keeping
it interesting and keeping us up late to watch some good baseball!
Oh, and yesterday they won their first play-off game against the Phillies.
Go Rockies!

No baseball pics, but this is a wonderful chocolate cake cactus that
Cheryl baked. A practice cake for a charity bake sale/competition
later this week. I got to help with the frosting and tasting!

time stops for no one

even people with cameras...

We've had so much fun the past few days,
who has time to stop for pictures? Let's see...

Friday afternoon we went to Hamilton Pool
to swim for a bit. Super chill and not
too crowded. But what's the deal with every
swimming hole in Texas...they're all freezing!
Does the water not know it's 100 degrees outside
(or almost 100 this year...I think it was the coldest
summer on the record books...so does the water
not know it's 95 outside?)

After the pool, mom cooked up some great hotwings.
I don't know how many she cooked, but I think Paul
must have eatin' more than half! That old dude can eat.

What else...Saturday we rode our bikes around LB Lake.
then we jumped in the kayaks and paddled the same loop.
I don't know how she does it, but Kimberly and I gave up
trying to keep up with mom. (when we were biking; she rode
ahead, rented a kayak, and still beat us back to the car. in the
kayaks; she went over a mile further than us, turned around,
passed us up, beat us to the dock, returned her kayak and got
her cc card back then waited at the dock to help us out).

Yesterday was football, football and poker while watching football!

the good life

I mentioned the great lunch K & I had for my birthday, but I didn't
get a chance to mention the great breakfast we had...(partly
because I'm using a new, old P.O.S., computer and partly because
my big sis already blogged about it). Anywho, see for your self.

The day before (the 25th) K and I were talking about who makes
better cinnamon rolls; my mom or KimMomLee (as my cell phone says).
How can you compare? Is it in the icing, the sugar, the doe or as
K says the "cinnamon". I don't know it's a close call. You can't believe
how similar these two recipes are.

I just realized I have no idea how to spell dow or doe. So any spelling
means "batter that makes bread"...

We had a great breakfast, a great lunch, played some car racing
games (which Kimberly let me win...I know because I've never
beaten her in a racing game before) at Dave & Busters, cooled
off at Barton Springs and ended with happy hour at Chewy's TexMex.

Now it's back to not being my birthday...good thing mom had to work
the actual day though, because now we get to celebrate all over again
with chicken wangs. We'll see if I can't get any good photos...
