Rent Check

No longer are the chicken girls freeloaders!  Found three eggs yesterday and looking forward to a couple more today.  Soooooooooo cool!

CABO & Turning 35!

For my 35th B-day we scored a free place to stay at the tip of Baja, somewhere near Cabo San Lucas.  The guys were stoked to score some waves and the girls were stoked to score some pool time.  Funny thing was that we timed it perfectly to be between two great swells...This resulted in the guys driving hours each day on a hunt for something to ride while the girls hung poolside.  I can assure you we drove a lot of that coast line.  I'm also pretty sure the only reason we didn't go to Mexican jail (or have to pay a bribe) had to do with a wasp flying into my jeep and stinging me while the cop was asking for all kinds of paper work.  The feds thought it was hilarious to hear me scream like a girl, then let me jump out of the car and take my shirt off...the people behind us gave me a look like "you have to take your shirt off here?"!  I bet the feds are still telling jokes about that one, i know i am.  It wasn't until the last day that we all caught some 5-7 Ft waves at a fun uncrowded spot.  I think K caught the waves of the day before heading to the airport!

We had an amazing view of the blood-moon eclipse!  

In the middle of nowhere the dirt road turned into a brand new paved for about 1/2 mile.  This area is still recovering from last years hurricane.

There were a couple "subdivision" entrances without a house in sight. Nor a store. Or restaurant.  Or people for that matter.  Looks cool though!

Me pissed off looking at lake Pacific.  "What the hell, it was 8 ft here 3 days ago. And where the hell is the taco stand? Why isn't there a taco stand on every corner here?"

On the way to snorkel "cabo pulmo".  Actually some of the best snorkeling i've done.  The reef wasn't in great shape but fish everywhere and right off the beach.

Flatness as far as the eye can see.  And yes we pulled into everyone of those coves in site to make sure no waves were breaking....

I think this stop was at shipwrecks.  The only people on the beach and no civilization for miles

This is one of my favorite photos.  I'm not sure if you can tell but those two girls are running for their life.  If they had taken another minute to pull their flippers off that shore pound wave was going to take them out!  Solid 5+ feet as it hit the beach.  Also two random friendly dogs on the beach (we gave them some water)

Sweet 16 San Diego Style

A couple of weeks ago we helped my cousin, M celebrate her 16th birthday, ocean style!

We cruised by work for a dolphin tour and then to the farmers market and surf shop. M brought her friend L along from Phoenix and Harley had them trained to deliver fruit to him in no time! 

Aunt J had never been on a boat on the ocean so we went on a whale watch tour. No whales, but we ran into a very large pod of dolphins, maybe 500, jumping and playing!

More parrot pics

Just back from a quick work trip in Utah and this bird won't leave me alone.  Usually he's down to walk around or post up on a perch or nap (or destroy something) but today when I got home he wouldn't get off my shoulder.  Well except for when the neighbor kid started playing basketball; then he did a short 6 ft face plant/glide thing. Once he realized he was on the ground he came running back!

I think with the right training we can make a salon called "bird grooming" where parrots pluck your ear hair. Customers will need to sign a poop waiver of corse.  Maybe we can partner with one of the salons that has that goldfish toe treatment?

Montana and snow

A few weeks ago we flew up to Washington and then drove to Kalispell MO to see brother D.

The leaves were changing and it was beautiful--my allergies were in full effect!

 I was very unprepared for the weather- RAIN and SNOW! We don't see much of that in San Diego and it was obvious. I did have a good excuse to shop for a new raincoat....

We listened to D play bass in a band, watched the boys longboard around the lake, then headed up to Glacier National Park. Where we were told the top of the park was closed because of SNOW. The first week of September! 

Can you see the SCUBA diver in the river? And I thought the Pacific was cold!!

Weird bird people…

I was hoping it would never come to this but yes we are are officially weird bird people...

Harley likes to do this weird stretch a few times a day.  Pull your right leg out, pull your right wing out; than bit the flip out of someone!  Just kidding he doesn't really bite. Much.

I guess it's about time I update this damn thing.  I know I sound like a broken record when it comes to updating the blog and i'm sure the same thing goes for K telling me she'll do it too!... here goes a quick recap of the past few weeks/months:

Lot's have happened in the past couple months and i don't see a break of action in our near future.  I'd like to start with saying thanks for those that helped out.  It was an amazing contribute and i'm super stoked and glad to have such great support from my friends and family.  Y'all rock!

So in the past few months we've purchased and started raising chickens. I must say they are the cutest chickens in the entire chicken world (maybe even universe).  L & E came out and helped the community move our chicken coop (wish i had photos)! we rescued a parrot (Harley the parrot, aka Bob Harley.  He's the smartest animal I've ever met. He says all kinds of cute things but his favorite words are "YoouWhooo", "knock it off" and of course "hello".  His favorite sound to make is a lazer beam sound so i think his previous owners must have been si-fi lovers or something.  We had S & kids and mom in town followed by friend N and his girlfriend K.  Can't believe how much fun it's been!  Pictures of all the action below:
