sick day
Usually when i say "sick day" i'm talking about how good the surf is going to be.
Nothing is changing here today, it's going to be great. However, this time i actually have a cold and
thankful the swell hasn't filled in yet. Oh-man i want to feel better by Saturday! Tomorrow or Monday
will work for me too tho!

thanksgiving
Nothing says thanksgiving like the thanksgiving day football games!
Super excited that this year was the first year the Texans played a Thanksgiving day game.
I started out watching the game solo
but all my hooting and hollering seemed
to draw a crowd. Some people watching
the game, some people watching me jump
up and down. Thanks Refs!!!
Another big thanksgiving day game (this is a new tradition) is Texas hold em.
We must have played over 10 games!
Sad to say i lost them all, but K split the
winnings a few times! Teaching the cousins
how to go all in....
Some people hold hands and pray before they eat.
This family discusses the important of the harvest!
How the grapes were only pretty good two years ago,
good last year, but "wicked" this year...I'll drink to that!
The dinner table! Turkey: fried, grilled and baked.
We're thankful for a lot this year. Especially for our family and friends!
Looking forward to next year and the possibility of holding the turkey party
at our house one year soon!
Mass work trip
The other week i had to make a last minute dash out to Massachusetts for some site visits.
No aftermath of the storm visible here, only trees, trees, trees. I'm always amazed with how
much country side there is on the east coast.
| Not a bad day on the job when you get to hike through trails like this all day. |
After hiking through the brush we came upon our site, i think we're going to call it ski hill solar!
In the middle of the forest was this old ski lift. Super cool to check out but would have been even cooler
if it was working, there was snow and i managed to get a few turns in!
Boston from my room. looks like just another city to me.
Pics from the celebration to come soon....

16 person bike?
Yesterday we were invited to join a group of friends for a 16 person b-day bike ride! I have to admit that at first i was a little concerned we signed up for a 16 person bike. I thought to myself...how long is this bike going to be? who's turning/steering it? do i need to wear spandex???
Oh man was i surprised when i saw this bike!
| It was a non-stop laughing fest while jamming to 80s-90s music and lost of "heeeey you're not peddling!" |
We had soooo much fun on this thing! Some people had peddles, some didn't and some couldn't reach the ones they had! We biked all around town touring bars and slowing up traffic. It was a traveling circus really, turning heads down every street! Good times, good laughs and good friends!
Oh-yeah, btw i got a new phone and that means a new camera. I'll do my best to keep updating this thing.

good times!
Today we had out first tangerine from our 1-year wedding anniversary tree and our first apple off our 2nd year anniversary tree. For dinner: Khorest-e Ghoemeh Sabzi (only no rice and home made french fries)! It's good to be home and life is good! We have so many pictures to upload but not enough time! Keep checking back for updates, and yes, maybe one day we will upload a pic of you M.

people visiting
Many people came for a visit this year. Here are a few, more to come.
This is a pick of me with LAD
RAD with LAD
C made it out for a couple of days
Attack cat stayed a week!
Kinda cute when he's not attacking something....kinda
M&J came out for M's 30th B-day. It was a surprise from his wife. Lots of surfing that weekend!
M and K @ hotel D. I think they biked here this day. 11 miles one way is a long distance on a cruiser bike with only one gear.
more pick to come...

Random happenings in time
Because our latest pictures are on K's phone, I've resorted to posting old pictures from this year. It really is amazing how much we have traveled, entertained....really just how much we've done.
At some point this year we made it to Vegas! K & G got to lounge poolside every day while I had to deal with business meetings. I guess i did score us a free killer dinner curtsey of one of my clients!
Our last night we got a fancy suite, you know the ones that require you to use a room card to get to your floor...outside our elevator was a cart with m&ms, mixed nuts, bottled water, coffee in the morning, amazingness!
G chilling in the room:
The bathroom had a TV in the middle of the mirror! Never miss a moment of a game again! kinda strange, kinda cool...!

Fun times in SD!
One of the best things about living in SD is the beach...it's the best park/playground ever!
...and sometimes,if you're lucky and know where to go, it can be like going to the zoo!
Here are a couple really good snorkeling videos from our last trip:
These two videos are from our diving trip with T! Blue whales & sea lions!!

COATICOOK
Wow another post!
...just back from our last minute trip to the Montreal area.
We were actually in the small town of Coaticook (it's near a town not as small named Sherbrooke).
By the way, who knew Montreal was on an island?
Between events we drove around town on side roads, country roads and the main street,
eventually running into a covered bridge! Supper bummed when we found out we couldn't drive across.
The entire town is as green and has as many trees as the background...awesome.
At some point in the trip I landed this giant tuna with my crew
(although i don't think they were trying as hard as i was)
All dressed up in our new rags
Playing with R's nephew J!
J taught me how to say "hide & seek" in French, "cash cash"!
We played lots of cash cash.
Glad we made it. Some of the nicest people you've ever met.
Thanks L&D for all the hospitality!
