small world

the show last night freakin rocked! it was good to finally
here them live. then, after the show we took a wrong turn
walking back to the car...just barely squeezing into the elevator
before it left. when we got to the bottom some dude tapped
me on the shoulder...it was flippin rick d! my best bud from elementary
school! and his girl! made me forget all about the concert
because all i could think about the rest of the night was how crazy
it was to run into his punk ass. yo r i'm calling you today and i'm
gonna convince you about voting otherwise! get ready dude!!!!

Here are the three picks we took while in New Orleans.
All three are from the balcony of the restaurant we had
the alligator at. No couple photos this time, b/c it was
just the two of us chillin, tryin to get our fillin. As you can see,
not many people on the street this year. Not sure if they
were all at the voodoo festival, crammed in the bars for the
football games, still passed out in their hotel rooms from
the night before or just m.i.a.?

Rise Against Tonight!!! Gonna be the oddest punk show yet.
very limited floor tickets. seats at a punk rock show is weirder
than seats at a WSP show.

just another...

manic monday, but i'm glad it's not sunday...again.

we spent the weekend in the big easy, as we do
every year bout this time. we had a great time,
taking it very easy this go round. we just couldn't
get into the drink till you drop attitude that everyone
else was in. instead we went to some great restaurants
and ate TONS of great food. the fish, the crab, the oysters,
ribs, shrimp, more fish and alligator! and beignets!
(insert BUURRP here because i don't know how to add sound)

we did make it to the aquarium of the americas and the imax!
we didn't make it to the poker tables...

yesterday we spent 10 hours traveling. a solid 8 on planes.
a 1 hour delay for a plane swap. booooo plane swaps.

anywho, it's good to be home. it's a bummer to come home late,
go straight to bed, then get up and go straight to work. booo work.

oh and the house is starting to fill with the great smell of pot
roast in the slow cooker. my tummy is rumbling for some
good ole home cookin!

I keep trying to get better pictures of c-low sleeping on the pillow,
but if I open the cage, he/she(?) gets up...and the screen is so thick
the pics come out blurry.

Anywho, here is a better pic of c-low, out cold! on the pillow!

Maybe we need a quilt too?

Pretty good timing there L&E...Whether you meant it or not!
Tuesday night I wanted to stay up and watch some TV, but K
was passing out tired. Telling me I should just read my book,
''but my book sucks, we were supposed to go get new ones last week."
Low and behold, The Very Next Day, UPS delivery? Wow I love late
b-day presents, books! I've already started on the first one, thanks!

E must not have been able to get out of orbit or where ever he isn't,
because he couldn't make it to SD for dinner. So to cheer up K, I took
her for her first surf at the sun set cliffs. In memory of E, we walked
a good distance down the cliffs to a spot called satellites...if it's not called
satellites, it should be because there is a huge satellite dish on the edge of the
cliff....and surfers always give surf spots dumb names like that based on
whatever is around (tree trunks, 56th street, the pier, wisconsin st,
trestles....you get the point).

Did you watch the debate? We didn't. Maybe the last 5 minutes.
It was already dark when we made it home from our surf.

new home

Last wednesday our favorite neighbor, jason, moved back home
to NY...we miss u j! Before he left he gave us his tv stand, and this
weekend we turned it in to a new home for c-low...
must say i'm pretty damn impressed with the results!

we also read that iguanas like to sleep with pillows?! really?
k was quick to action and in about 10 minutes later she stitched
up a c-low sized pillow. in case you are skeptical...
out cold!

betrothed, engaged, fiance
all these terms sound funny...why aren't there any good ones?
Do you have a better one?

On another note, we have some super funny pictures from
this weekend, but they all have devil eyes...need to figure
out that red eye reduction thing on the camera first (I tried to
edit the pictures with my photo editor, but it just gave us
white eyes (even creepier than the red ones)). The Saratoga
crew scored a ping pong table so that's where we've spent most
of our time lately. I love that game and can't wait to get another table.
I gave away my last one and I think that punk took it to the beach
for fire wood...

We make the southwest egg rolls (maybe they should be called southeast?)
at least once a week! I don't know what we did before we scored the egg roll
recipe???

We are going to New Orleans next week.
Next month C to Texas & K to Nebraska
For the record, I must say TX is way better than NE! But not as cool
as CO!
Then in December we go to NV/CA & then CO! WOW!

Another beautiful weekend in Socal! I might have to go take a picture
of the waves for you to see...pretty epic today...makes sense that
it rained yesterday and shouldn't go in the water for 2 more days.
On that note, Arnold "the governor" cut funds for
the water quality bord (or whatever the actual title is).
The people that test the water daily or weekly or however often
they do it, and then post the results online.
No way to know if you should go in the water or not.
Cali beaches generate billions each year dude.

Also, I went to my first jury calling on Thursday. I wanted to be picked
so bad. They're Guilty! I really just wanted to get picked to be questioned,
because I sat in that damn room ALL DAY LONG. The biggest waste of time
EVER. Started with 700+ people. 1.5 hours into the wait and they called 50
people. Then 45 minutes later another 50. Then we waited and waited and
waited...OK 1.5 hour lunch break. Then we waited another hour, they called
50 more people. Then we waited and waited and waited. In the end there must
have been 300 of us that didn't get called...300 people that they didn't even
begin to need...time that should have been spent working...stimulating the
economy or something. booooooooooooooo jury duty!

That said, it was a wonderful weekend!

We gave C-low some typing training...got ctrl, alt, delete down!
Smart little bugger...

My birthday Kicks! Thanks Girls! you have great taste,
couldn't have picked out better myself.

Feeling normal is so great!
Too bad it takes feeling terrible to realize it sometimes.
Stoked to not have to even take aleve anymore...let alone the other crap.

Now that I'm finally catching up with my work (taking too many half and not
at all days from work sucks!) I have a minute to say what a awesome b-day
I had. K took me to a super fancy restaurant with an ocean view, great food
and of course great wine. We also spent two days together with just us.
no neighbors. no friends. just the two of us.
(maybe 5 million phone calls though, but I guess that was my fault!)
Then Sunday we had friends come over for the usual ribs...got another best yet......

here is the awesome cake she made me...
even had to sneak in some wheat flour...

The crew brought over ice cream cones and preceded to stuff
em' with cake (frosting side down) and topped em' off with ice cream.
how weird is that???
