Home sweet home. Coulda used anther few days though...
It didn't seem like a whirl wind trip, which has not been the case
of our last few in-n-out trips. Back to the grind...at least for only
3 days!!!

Had a great X-mas break. The snow didn't cooperate though.

We found the leak in the hot tub. Breaking icicles isn't quite
as nice as sitting in the tub, but it was still pretty damn fun...

Yesterday was one of the coldest days I've ever experienced yet...
Temps below -14 and windchills around -40. F.U.C.K.N. COOOOOLD!

This was as we started working.
2 Pairs of thermals (1 was malitary/beastie boy grade),
pants and snowboard pants. AAAANNNNDDD. still COLD.



We stayed in the trucks as much as possible.

Today it was a balmy --4! Sunny. No wind and perfect.
Then the temps increased to +22. Sun went away and the
wind started blowing. It felt like it was -200.

while driving from Fargo to Jamestown I was flipping
through the radio and heard a guy say, "god directed you
there." the lady replied, "oh, I know, it was a god moment."
i don't think i've had one of those yet...not sure if i even want one.
but with tomorrow's high of -4 and scheduled to be at the job
site by dawn, i just might have a god moment.
who knows.

Washing clothes, digging through the closet, suit cases,
board bags and still no gloves...or at least not the gloves
I'm looking for.
Packing up for a cold week in North Dakota. Micrositing
a wind farm all week. It's gonna be 2 degrees tomorrow,
and 3 on tuesday before warming up to a balmy 15.
er ber.

the couple i sat next to on the way home from the
guys night out party told me that their son just
went to an ugly sweater party. i laughed.
tomorrow we go to an ugly sweater party! ha.

oh-yeah last weekend was guys night out.

paid for my plain ticket with poker winnings!

Charlie Brown Christmass Tree

The waves have been huge lately. But so has my time on
dry land. Actually, although it's been BIG and CLEAN, it's
also been the most polluted it has been in a year. I wonder
how may will be heading to the doc this week?

K and I did a morning cruse to the cliffs today.
On the way home we drove by the pier...
It's a Charlie Brown Christmas in OB this year.

I just don't know how anyone paid money to cut this tree
down? At what point do you not say, "well. maybe this one can live"

thanksgiving and beyond....

Another loooong gap between posts.
It's RAINING! It's been raining all day long!
And it's going to keep raining until tomorrow.
It must be the 100-yr rain for SD. I miss the rain
so much, it awesome!

On a side note, it sucks because now the ocean will
be super, extra polluted...no way I'll go in the water
for the next week. No way unless the surf is
super, extra epic!

I can't talk about last weekend yet because I have to
get this thanksgiving post up first...

Another fun and busy weekend. We lit up the fire pit friday
night...I must have eaten 4 smoores in under 5 minutes...just as
long as it took me to catch my marsh mellows on fire.

Saturday Kimberly played in an intramural soccer
tournament. she had some blocks and a great assist...
Super stoked...they even got 5th place!!!

I got some quality time in the water. good clean, chect+
beach break 2 minutes away from the tourny!

Then it was off to the post soccer bbq.
Home for 5 more smoores! and asleep on the floor by 6.
Laundry and back to work today.

wow helluva week.
This weekend we met with 3 different photographers,
a dj and a terry y sally...soon to be TS+1!
We decided on a photographer and the dj!

now if we can find time to meet with the officiant...

waves are huge. surfed the cliffs and watched people get
washed on the rocks...gotten taken out by some backwash.

found the time to watch some football! tonight's game
is huge for the chargers.

Happy B-Day to Me!

Damn fine b-day weekend. Rick d & C picked us up
saturday morning, bought some breakfast and
drove on. They wouldn't tell us where we were going.
We had a few super fun hours at the rock gym.
My arms were so tired that I could barely shuffle
the cards when we played poker...but I did manage
to make some cash in both games.

I wish it was logistically possible to send a lizard to TX...I would have
really liked for R&C to take care of Cilantro. Instead we found a guy
who has owned a few iguanas and also has three little girls here in SD.

I'm still laughing inside from hearing the girls yell, "daaaaaaaaad,
he just pooooooped......in the car"

As my buddy Stevo once so eloquently put it "holy crap! that shit
it bigger than my dogs!"

week 1 and counting

Week one done. Nothing but steaks, golf and
the couch this weekend....maybe some work
clothes purchasing. NOT shopping.

Learning tons at the new yob and lovin' it!
Salary + 50+ hours = my new schedule...
We do some super cool solar and wind projects
and stoked and be in the industry. beats the
hell out of oil& gas!

I think 3 weeks in counting for vacation!

Super chill weekend....not much new to report.

First attempt at making some crab dip...came out
pretty damn good but still missing something...

Last week we did manage to make it back to the
jeweler....the rings are being made as I type (I hope)!

Getting ready to start the new yob. First days of anything
are never fun...(unless it's the first day of vacation...4 weeks
and counting)!

It was shark week last week! WTF Discovery channel?
Could you have made it any more cheeeeeeeeseeeey?
Man eaters..gruesome killers....death, destruction, jaws,
people and pools of blood...gets old after a bit.
You have a greater chance of death by vending machine
then death by shark. I will no longer keep quarters in my pocket.

However the Island of Guadalupe (200 miles from SD) is now
on our list of "things to accomplish, to do, or whatever"...cage diving
with great whites anyone????

Iguana needs a good home! (restaurant?) We have some nieces
and nephews that could use a new reptile! Think of the responsibility
you could teach your kids. Ships overnight, express delivery...any takers???

New Job

It's official.....I got a new job!
AND I get to keep working for my
old job on the side....stoked.

The concert this weekend rocked! Maybe 300 people. Tops.


Other than that, we had so many errands to get done this weekend.
It feels good to cross off a few items from the list.

We have also recently created a community garden! super cool. super fun.
Tomatoes, hot peppers, bells, cucumbers, peas.....the list goes on and on.
It started off friendly enough but I think some of the neighbors
are becoming garden nazis! Yesterday I was just informed that
"we are only watering at night now." And that one of our tomato plants
should be pulled because it doesn't look good and "you still have 6 more
anyway!". Ha! I tried to explain we named that particular plant "Charlie
Brown", and told the story of the ugly duckling....RIP C.B. Christmas tree.
ha ha. ha. no hard feelings guys!!!!!!!!!

I think these past couple weekends can be described by
2 words. Poker & Family. We've played so much poker lately it is
insane. We also saw tons o family. Thanks for everything from
everyone.

past, present & future

another long gap between updating this thing...
Last weekend was super crazy. My mom came to
visit while K flew to SC for her grandfather's funeral.
K flew out Wednesday night and M arrived Thursday morning.

It was a packed weekend...With only 3 days in town we had to pack it in.
I wish I would have brought the camera along for pictures, but one of
these days mom will figure out how to get the footage from the camera
to her computer and then on to my computer! Lets see...we rode the
cruiser bikes (without helmets) to the sunset cliffs and hiked around
the secret beach there. Rick D and new wife came over for dinner
one night! Hiked to the ceader creek falls and caught 2 rosy boas
(1 of 2 boa species native to north america). I kicked her ass in scrabble
twice! (although I always get the feeling she is letting me win...she did win 1).
AND we ate at every single have-to restaurant/bar.
frisbee golf in there somewhere too.


This weekend we went to the three sisters falls. Super cool hike.
This hike was an ass kicker!

This week is flying by...i can't believe tuesday is almost over.

Day 10 of no surf.

This weekend during our poker game one of the neighbors

had a friend show up with his 3 yr old daughter. As soon as

she saw princes k, she wouldn't leave her lap....well maybe

C-low was the life of the party. Getting cooler and cooler

every week.

It's way easier to think of stuff to write about when you
have a few pictures to help you along...

This weekend N & T came for a visit. We did so many things in
so few days. Biking, hiking, snorkeling, golf, more biking and
lots of eating.

This pic is file footage just emailed to me from a friends...a
good day to be out and about...even on a bike.

We took the boys down to this cave. Usually it's pretty dry

on a low tide, but today's low was still pretty high...resulting

in wading through chest deep water with cameras over our

heads. always a cool spot.

A result of the high low tide...I had to give K my shirt.

We also went snorkeling with the leopard sharks (video to come).

T had the most trouble I've ever seen any one have with a wetsuit.

First he spent 20 min putting the damn thing on backwards!

Then another 30 putting it on inside-out! Needless to say, he

was pretty excited to get in the water...
