the people on the island are very friendly, they drive on the other side of the road, use the Caribbean dollar (2=1 u.s. $), speak english as the main language, and have an amazingly high literacy rate. not to mention live on a BEAUTIFUL island!!!


the SCUBA diving and snorkeling had us sticking our heads underwater a good deal of the trip. clear blue water, turtles, rays, and fish, oh my!

Holy Ship

Stick a fork in me. i'm done. what a looong day.
typical long week already at the office.
saving the planet one project at a time.

this weekend was: non. stop. action.
not even time for the jackson.

E&L came to visit this weekend. helped us
refinish our kitchen table and chairs. we stripped
the paint and the material. painted and sowed.
painted our walls. painted our chairs. our table
and hung new curtains made by L.
things are starting to come together in our little home!

Sunday was pretty damn amazing. we went to the casino
for a concert. decided to enter a texas holdem' tourny.
all 4 of us. AND. 3 of us made it to the final table and
split the pot! then we watched WSP! pretty awesome venue.

ok i'm beat if you couldn't tell by my not so stellar writing style.

garden action day...picture perfect sd

The weather here is P E R F E C T! after unseasonable cold
and rain we finally have some classic sd weather. we celebrated
by giving the yard and garden some much needed attention.

(we must be getting old: yard/garden/house work one day
and golf the next)



check out our cantaloupe plant in the front yard! 4 big cantaloupes
that will be ripe in another few weeks and then 4 tennis
ball sized waiting their turn. stoked on the random cantaloupe
plant that decide to pop up in the middle of our yard...


we also planted a honeysuckle plant just across from the
rose bush...any vining out tips? we want to cover all of the metal
on the fence.

camping, wedding & b-day...oh my

B double E double R U N, beer run. say it three times fast,
with a southern accent, and see if you don't smile. i did. If only
I could share the beat with you...

When we started writing thank yous I thought
to my self, "do people write thank yous for thank you letters?"...
Thanks G (That was a thank you for a thank you thank you letter,
or something like that.


side note: A vine started growing in our front yard awhile back.
We thought it was a squash or cucumber but turns out it's gonna
be a watermelon. or more like tons of watermelons! Its taken
over the front yard, photos to come. Thanks people that spat
watermelon seeds in our yard!

much needed time OFF...

Of work, not the blog.


K# hasn't been living up to her promise of much blog updating,
so I'm picking up the slack today. It's damn great to have a loong
weekend. A much needed 4 days off, Comp time rules! My
boss even kicked the weekend off by offering me a promotion,
or title change or something congratulatory.
congratulatory, congratulatory, congratulatory? Say that one
3 times fast. Then spell it.


We have a Caimee visiting us this weekend too. She's in town for
another wedding, 2 of 6 she's attending this year, Wow! Yesterday
Matt & Angie came out and joined us for a day of food and soccer...
super fun day. More jumping the fence to retrieve ball on the
schedule for this afternoon. Kabobs on the menu.



We did some landscaping to the front of our house a few weeks
ago. Owning a house with this cuittie is a pretty sweet deal,
Life is good in So Cal!



I have a picture from the Rod Y Gab concert but it came
out the size of a microchip; so I deleted it. The caption was
going to tell you about how much fun we had and we took
Sasha for her B-day and some of my coworkers came and
it was outside by the water and if only we had the kayaks.
But no photo, no caption.

47 days...

Holy shit i just went to our wedding site for the first
time in at least three weeks and only 47 more days
until the DAY...we have a least 30 days worth of work
around here before the bbq. Not to mention the number
of unchecked wedding emails is growing exponentially.

moving day

where did the weekend go? drove all day sunday. 20+ hours straight.
made it to ob around 130am. up at 530. work for a few and then off
to the new house to unload. in the rain. never been so happy to move
in the rain! super stoked with the new home.

WE GOT A PUPPY!!!!

Well...our neighbor got a puppy, and K
babysitted Mr. Geoffrey Chaucer for a few on saturday.
Super cute. Told her I wanna puppy and all she said was "uh oh"!





this is just a bird. not a puppy. probably twice as loud.
I think I will miss these little squawkers the most...

the offsite

when i first started working at my job everyone had
to take personality tests. we then spent a few hours
going over the results in private sessions.

this week we did the next step. two off site meetings.
super cool. we went through everyone's results and
attempted to understand why each of us is the way we
are and how we react with others and in times of stress.

part of the process was we took turns talking about
each person at the table...stating with their contribution
to the team and ending with what they need to improve
or eliminate. brutal. at least for some.
for me, it was awesome! i had the most positive feedback!
even the director (my bosses boss) of my area said I was
the only person in the group that he couldn't find any area
I need to improve on...super stoked.

feeling pretty good about my self today!

still doing the wedding planning, house buying, work your ass
off thing. I was relieved to hear the invitations were just shipped.
yesterday. at least two more days to get my addresses together!

yesterday we had our initial home inspection. we saw
some good, some bad, and even some WTF?

and back to beautiful. stoked.

finally made it home friday night / saturday morning....

long flights & time changes are no fun. On the way home I
sat next to a 6'4'' ''tommy toothbrush" (google it)...
at least he wasn't in costume. This guy put his mascot suit
in the overhead bin and proceeded to stop anyone from
putting any thing next to it...OK. he did let one guy put
his jacket in there; after which he said "never trust a guy
who wears a (cell phone) ear piece...you don't wear
one of those do you?"
nope.

just made it to Tampa....it's hot & humid. go weather channel
with your forecast of 65. all i packed was pants and long selves...

Tampa reminds me of the Texas coast, only i don't know where the

while we're at it, let's give a shout out to obese people and crying babies.
neither should be aloud to fly. at least not next to me for 3 hours.

the good:
it's nice to not be in the office the rest of the week. super stoked to learn
some cool stuff.

The parrots are back. So we're up early! Kimberly actually opened
a book for the first time in wkw...at least until I reached for my
laptop.

We went on a tour of neighborhoods yesterday with a realtor and

saw some awesome neighborhoods. Loan dude said we are good

to go. Who knows, the next time you come visit you might have
