We did the yearly migration to Colorado for Christmas....
Not much snow on the ground but good times all around.
We showed up Tuesday night just in time for the X-mas party,
I think I enjoyed the Cajun Christmas story the best. A must
for any Christmas story. Tons of good food and family.

Christmas eve we did the annual movie, lunch, party...
The lunch crew. I think only half made it to the movie and
no one made it to the movie on time.

The girls are always down to business.
Someone needs to remind these girls that we are on vacation!

Puzzle business is OK with me.

See.

Also, I got to drive my truck for the second time this year!
Thanks to all for the laughs, the memories and the gifts!
I think Big D scored biggest with the headlights ball cap
(or whatever you call it).
OK other non-christmas notes:
Hey Suz, have you played PJ ''Mr. Bass''?
I'm not sure who put the video up but it's the right song.
Also, Yo Mom I want to see a few picks of the chickens!
(My Mom has 6 or 7 chickens)
Did you know the color of a chicken's egg is determined by the
color of the chicken's feet?

Christmas already

X-mas has just been popping up the past few years. I can't
believe we're leaving for Denver in a couple of hours.

I thought Thanksgiving was last week?

Oh-yeah last week was lake Tahoe.

Not much snow, but managed a day at heavenly and a day
at mammoth. Can't wait to go back when there is some
snow on the ground. The condo was bad ass though, if there
was any snow we could have rode in and out of the condo.

K won a texas holdem tournament! the final 3 players all
split the cash! L,E&I all made it pretty far in the tournament too...

OK, it's updated. Now it'll be another week....at least.

Happy Holidays!

Thanksgiving Weekend

After all kinds of flights and layovers I made it to Texas & back
this thanksgiving. I'm thankful for my family being able to come
together to make my quick holiday travels super easy and super fun.

This thanksgiving can be summed up with two words: tree climbing.
I think we logged more hours in the trees than anywhere else.
We climbed trees at the park, trees at the house and played climb
the cy-tree.

The park tree....almost too high for comfort. All the other kids
at the park we're super jealous, and their parents not too happy.
They begged their parents to let them climb the tree too.
One brave dad gave in and gave it a slow attempt...
with much coaching from P, D and me.

The tree at the house. I taught R how to run up this one.

When we ran out of trees to climb, we hit up the jungle jim
or whatever this thing is called....

Big sis spent the entire time in the kitchen. The only way
you could talk to this girl was if you were in the kitchen too.
The kids have a couple light sabers so you know we had to
battle it out once. Even the battle took place in the kitchen.
I'm not sure you can declare victory of that one sis.

My niece and nephew are the cuttest!

All in all, the trip was a whirl wind. This is me breaking all the
rules; trying to explain to C what a whirl wind is.

K doesn't have any pictures of her family festivities so I don't
believe anything fun actually happened. I told her to give me
some pictures and I can make up captions but I have yet to
see any pics, and you don't want me to just start making up
stuff. You brought me back potatoes? what is this?
Where's my cinnamon rolls damn it?!
I want some cinnamon goodness! with icing.

Blogger says they are posted and I can log in to

Must be something wrong with you, it definitely can't

If you haven't seen the Sara Palin turkey video,
it's a must see...she's giving a speech after pardoning
a turkey, only the speech is in front of turkeys being
slaughtered...be warned not for the faint hearted.

On the turkey note, what's up with the no turkey
thanksgiving Suz? Chicken? Fried at least?
Next year I think everyone will have to come to
cali for the feast. Who knows, we may be in a bigger
place by then? Can't wait to see all of you!!!
2 days and counting!

K is a badass, details later...you go girl!

Anything else? nope

Sunday, November 23, 2008

Have I told you...

What a handsome badass C is? He's the man.

So, that aside, this weekend we did a ton of random stuff.
We started off at the wild animal park, where we took a few
pictures of our selves to put on this thing.

this little guy was supper cute....a little bitty baby monkey

The wild animal park is pretty damn spacious...the animals have
tons of room and you observe most of them from a far. Nice
to see a zoo built with the animals in mind. Add low crowds and
not many little ones roaming around and you have a perfect date.

damn he's hot!

There are all kinds of trails to walk around on with crazy
plants everywhere, but don't stray off the path...

So we were supposed to go scuba diving on this day, BUT
miss M never sent in her information to get her dive card.
After getting rejected to rent gear, the girls forced me to go
bike riding...(oh am I writing this thing? trying to throw you
off M). It was a fun ride and the waves were looking fun.
BUT my slacking self still hasn't locked in some health \
insurance, so no surfing for me.

M you are right, none of the pictures of you & K came out!
So instead you get the pick with me! showing how happy I
am to be out riding bikes!

We're letting C-low roam the house a lot more often these
days. The dude loves exploring...had a great time exploring
M's hair!

Super fun weekend.

Dinner with Maggie

M's in town from New York this week, so we invited her over
for some grub. Steak & cheetos...doesn't get any better than that!

C-low was restless in the cage so we let em' roam around the
house for a bit....getting tamer by the day!

M, C-low & K

Just chillin

Sorry mom, no pictures of me, I had the camera. This afternoon
we're heading to the wild animal park and tomorrow we're
gong scuba diving. somewhere in the chaos we will end up
with some pictures.

where to begin

Let see...sorry no pictures.

The method man show was awesome! We had a great
time, but I'll spare you the details.......you just had to be there!

This weekend Jewls came to visit. The weather was
absolutely amazing...Mid November - 80's, light
wind and super sunny. We spent some quality time at the
beach. Then the bar at the beach and then the restaurant
at the beach and then back to the beach. Wow. We even made
it out on the town for a bit. Thanks J for all the meals (we haven't
eatin' out since the last time EJ took us out).

I was dropped off K's health insurance as a co-inhabiter. as if we
don't live together. Bastards. No surfing this weekend...or until
I get my stuff together and find some of my own.

We also have had some car issues lately. Damn check engine lights
and damn o2 sensors. I think its a government conspiracy because
every time the light goes on its an o2 sensor and then we get our
stimulus check the next day. WTF?

Anything else I can ramble on about?
This blog thing isn't near as entertaining when I don't
have pictures to add.

We also have a huge list of thank yous to talk about.
From butter cutters to plane tickets to skate boards to diamonds
to meals...and the list goes on and on. We get hooked up big time!
I hope everyone out there knows how grateful we are for everything
you do for us!!! Thanks Everyone!

OK I'm KO
We'll try to take more pictures

M.E.T.H.O.D. MAN
Tonight we have tix to go see method man & red man.
Should be pretty entertaining. We'll try to take some picks.

Fun in the Sun

This weekend we had all kinds of fun. We invited the sarataga crew
over for a little bbq. Chef Ralph showed up and cooked a rack of lamb,
chicken and even a little fillet mignon! Baller. But, I think the hit of the
night was K's pumpkin cookies. Definitely herd multiple people claim
they were the best cookies they ever had...not me, I'm partial to chocolate
chip!....chocolate chip pumpkin?

We also made it to the beach for a little surf time with the new neighbors.
The girls were killin it. The sun was out, the waves were fun, and we passed
out at about 430. woke up for a snack and crawled to bed.

Yesterday we recruited the other neighbors for a bike ride. Well it was
actually their idea, but they are always claiming to be going on a ride and
never seem to go. So it took much motivation on our part. It was another
beautiful day with the sun shinning bright and warm temps. We went from
the bay to the beach to a bar on the beach! On the way home K found out
one of the beach front restaurants is also the Oregon alum spot. You know
we had to stop and watch part of the game before riding home!

Obama Wins!!!

Amazing! I Didn't think it would/could actually happen.
I Hope you made it out to show your support for our country.
Finally someone I voted for actually won!!!

Did you see the poster of all 43 presidents with Obama in the middle?
Super cool (If you know where I can get a copy of that, drop me a line
because I looked and couldn't find it). Crazy to think back that 12 or
16 of those dudes had slaves...and that the steps of the white house
were built by slaves...wow. I wonder how it feels to be racist right now?
To have a leader who you hate. It seems like it might be frustrating enough
to make their heads explode......could this be the final push to make Tx
break off from the rest country to become their own nation? hum...I wonder.

To my friends that didn't vote...I would say it, but I won't.
It's kinda like going to the dentist when you're an adult.
They don't tell you anymore that you need to be flossing or brushing 3 times
a day because they know you already know it and have been told to
since you were a kid.

go vote

Get up, get out and do something...go vote.

small world

the show last night freakin rocked! it was good to finally
here them live. then, after the show we took a wrong turn
walking back to the car...just barely squeezing into the elevator
before it left. when we got to the bottom some dude tapped
me on the shoulder...it was flippin rick d! my best bud from elementary
school! and his girl! made me forget all about the concert
because all i could think about the rest of the night was how crazy
it was to run into his punk ass. yo r i'm calling you today and i'm
gonna convince you about voting otherwise! get ready dude!!!!

Here are the three picks we took while in New Orleans.
All three are from the balcony of the restaurant we had
the alligator at. No couple photos this time, b/c it was
just the two of us chillin, tryin to get our fillin. As you can see,
not many people on the street this year. Not sure if they
were all at the voodoo festival, crammed in the bars for the
football games, still passed out in their hotel rooms from
the night before or just m.i.a.?

Rise Against Tonight!!! Gonna be the oddest punk show yet.
very limited floor tickets. seats at a punk rock show is weirder
than seats at a WSP show.

just another...

manic monday, but i'm glad it's not sunday...again.

we spent the weekend in the big easy, as we do
every year bout this time. we had a great time,
taking it very easy this go round. we just couldn't
get into the drink till you drop attitude that everyone
else was in. instead we went to some great restaurants
and ate TONS of great food. the fish, the crab, the oysters,
ribs, shrimp, more fish and alligator! and beignets!
(insert BUURRP here because i don't know how to add sound)

we did make it to the aquarium of the americas and the imax!
we didn't make it to the poker tables...

yesterday we spent 10 hours traveling. a solid 8 on planes.
a 1 hour delay for a plane swap. booooo plane swaps.

anywho, it's good to be home. it's a bummer to come home late,
go straight to bed, then get up and go straight to work. booo work.

oh and the house is starting to fill with the great smell of pot
roast in the slow cooker. my tummy is rumbling for some
good ole home cookin!

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

I keep trying to get better pictures of c-low sleeping on the pillow,
but if I open the cage, he/she(?) gets up...and the screen is so thick
the pics come out blurry.

Anywho, here is a better pic of c-low, out cold! on the pillow!

Maybe we need a quilt too?

Pretty good timing there L&E...Whether you meant it or not!
Tuesday night I wanted to stay up and watch some TV, but K
was passing out tired. Telling me I should just read my book,
''but my book sucks, we were supposed to go get new ones last week."
Low and behold, The Very Next Day, UPS delivery? Wow I love late
b-day presents, books! I've already started on the first one, thanks!

E must not have been able to get out of orbit or where ever he isn't,
because he couldn't make it to SD for dinner. So to cheer up K, I took
her for her first surf at the sun set cliffs. In memory of E, we walked
a good distance down the cliffs to a spot called satellites...if it's not called
satellites, it should be because there is a huge satellite dish on the edge of the
cliff....and surfers always give surf spots dumb names like that based on
whatever is around (tree trunks, 56th street, the pier, wisconsin st,
trestles....you get the point).

Did you watch the debate? We didn't. Maybe the last 5 minutes.
It was already dark when we made it home from our surf.

new home

Last wednesday our favorite neighbor, jason, moved back home
to NY...we miss u j! Before he left he gave us his tv stand, and this
weekend we turned it in to a new home for c-low...
must say i'm pretty damn impressed with the results!

we also read that iguanas like to sleep with pillows?! really?
k was quick to action and in about 10 minutes later she stitched
up a c-low sized pillow. in case you are skeptical...
out cold!

Sunday, October 12, 2008

betrothed, engaged, fiance
all these terms sound funny...why aren't there any good ones?
Do you have a better one?

On another note, we have some super funny pictures from
this weekend, but they all have devil eyes...need to figure
out that red eye reduction thing on the camera first (I tried to
edit the pictures with my photo editor, but it just gave us
white eyes (even creepier than the red ones)). The Saratoga
crew scored a ping pong table so that's where we've spent most
of our time lately. I love that game and can't wait to get another table.
I gave away my last one and I think that punk took it to the beach
for fire wood...

We make the southwest egg rolls (maybe they should be called southeast?)
at least once a week! I don't know what we did before we scored the egg roll
recipe???

We are going to New Orleans next week.
Next month C to Texas & K to Nebraska
For the record, I must say TX is way better than NE! But not as cool
as CO!
Then in December we go to NV/CA & then CO! WOW!

Another beautiful weekend in Socal! I might have to go take a picture
of the waves for you to see...pretty epic today...makes sense that
it rained yesterday and shouldn't go in the water for 2 more days.
On that note, Arnold "the governor" cut funds for
the water quality bord (or whatever the actual title is).
The people that test the water daily or weekly or however often
they do it, and then post the results online.
No way to know if you should go in the water or not.
Cali beaches generate billions each year dude.

Also, I went to my first jury calling on Thursday. I wanted to be picked
so bad. They're Guilty! I really just wanted to get picked to be questioned,
because I sat in that damn room ALL DAY LONG. The biggest waste of time
EVER. Started with 700+ people. 1.5 hours into the wait and they called 50
people. Then 45 minutes later another 50. Then we waited and waited and
waited...OK 1.5 hour lunch break. Then we waited another hour, they called
50 more people. Then we waited and waited and waited. In the end there must
have been 300 of us that didn't get called...300 people that they didn't even
begin to need...time that should have been spent working...stimulating the
economy or something. booooooooooooooo jury duty!

That said, it was a wonderful weekend!

We gave C-low some typing training...got ctrl, alt, delete down!
Smart little bugger...

My birthday Kicks! Thanks Girls! you have great taste,
couldn't have picked out better myself.

Feeling normal is so great!
Too bad it takes feeling terrible to realize it sometimes.
Stoked to not have to even take aleve anymore...let alone the other crap.

Now that I'm finally catching up with my work (taking too many half and not
at all days from work sucks!) I have a minute to say what a awesome b-day
I had. K took me to a super fancy restaurant with an ocean view, great food
and of course great wine. We also spent two days together with just us.
no neighbors. no friends. just the two of us.
(maybe 5 million phone calls though, but I guess that was my fault!)
Then Sunday we had friends come over for the usual ribs...got another best yet......

here is the awesome cake she made me...
even had to sneak in some wheat flour...

The crew brought over ice cream cones and preceded to stuff
em' with cake (frosting side down) and topped em' off with ice cream.
how weird is that???

Save our parks

super busy lately...no time to update this damn thing, but here goes...

Lets start with yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon I was able to make it to the save our parks/trestles
meeting. Pretty stoked to find the time to help support this cause....
The low down on this is that some developers want to build a toll road
through public land (san onofre state park which also happens to be the
home to one of the best wave in so cal). The pricks only real argument
was more jobs and more money (toll road. public land? what?). It was
cool to see the turnout for both sides: surfers, environmentalists and families
against the road. A few suits, construction workers and bums for the jobs/ $$$.
CCA already shot down the road and NOAA was reevaluating CCAs decision.

This weekend I got some time back. I think I'm only 40 thees days. Friday
I was on the floor in pain. Lee couldn't take it anymore and dragged me kickin'
and screamin' to an Acupuncturist! eek. The dude put a couple needles in me,
hooked em up to a shocker and my leg flopped around for about 10 minutes.
10 minutes. 10 minutes and I could walk again, are you kiddin me? Wow!
I'm a believer, can you say career change? Thanks L! You Saved the weekend!

Then to celebrate she took us to the California Adventure Park!
Reminded me of my family trip to Disney world, and of when my
mom worked for Astroworld. When we would get on the grease lighting
and say "again" and "again" and "again"!

Even Mr. Potato head could keep his eyes of K!

L wanted a kissing photo, but I was like "not in front of your mom"

The Sunshine girls

Afterwords we met E at the ESPN restaurant with TVs the size

of movie screens. I told K about all the TVs in the mens bathroom:

at the urinals and in the stalls...."um can we speak to the manager?

I want TVs in the ladies room too!"

Why is blogger forcing this double spacing on me???

Thursday, September 18, 2008

This time last year! (So I don't sound too bitter!)

Oldest Man

Can you believe some dude is claiming to be the oldest
man alive and he is only 113? It might not be official, but
I'm turning 200 next week...and I didn't even get a party
when I turned 199 yesterday.

On another note, I'm forming a bank. The Me bank of
Cyrus. Yo Bush hook it up. Bail me out too dude. You
don't want my investors to go under. It won't even cost
you 816 billion, only a meager 515 B. Just print a little more...

Can you tell I'm bitter?
I F-ing love sciatica.

Y.M.M.F.S.S.

You Make Me Feel So Special

Words can't begin to describe how you make me feel,
but words are used to describe everything real.
Love, Luck, Lust, what else is there to say??? Y.M.M.F.S.S....

But still I wish I had the words.
I wish the words would come my way, because Y.M.M.F.S.S....

When I look into your eyes,
When I see you smile,
When you laugh, when you cry,
Shit, when I watch you walk by, Y.M.M.F.S.S....

Sometimes I'm strong, Sometimes I'm soft,
Sometimes we disagree which street we should cross.
But never, Never! With a loss. Y.M.M.F.S.S....

So hear I am searching for the words,
Words, to describe how I feel,
Without mentioning your wonderful sex appeal...
Because these words are here for everyone to feel.
Y.M.M.F.S.S....

It's no secret, and it's no holy grail,
That you're my girl, and our love will never fail.
You Make Me Feel So Special

I love you Kimberly. Thanks for taking such good care
of me and I hope I didn't embarrass you too much, because
You Make Me Feel So Special

date night

another reason to love living in ca, bands actually want to play here...
saturday night we went to one of the best shows yet (arguably better then
the rod y gab, wsp and the bad religion concerts) jack johnson!
super good show, nice venue...ej, you might have to reconsider the
buffet show, the lawn seats were pretty nice.
We sat in the back, in the grass and just chilled. I don't think the two
of us have gone out alone (date like) in a long time. absolutely flawless
evening. On the other hand, K is feeling a little under the weather...
can't quite kick that cold...poor sick cutie has to work today, labor day.

question o the day:
will we still get to go to New Orleans next month?

sun and sand

We spent the entire weekend at the beach, only leaving for
food and rest. We logged some serious hours of swimming/surfing
and countless hours in the sand. On Saturday we did one of
the coolest things since we moved here...snorkeled with some sharks!
super cool. We heard about these leopard sharks that come next to shore
to breed, and are relatively harmless, so we rounded up our crew and
some neighbors and went off for an underwater excursion. We saw so
many sharks, sting rays and fish...all within 30 yards of the beach...wow.

As soon as we picked em up for the port, we headed up to south beach
for a great view, food and happy hour...stoked as always

Terry wishing he could catch up to me...

Saturday after the snorkeling we had a bbq/bday party with all
the usual crew turning up...best ribs ever???

In case you were wondering what they look like..BAD ASS

The best weekend we've had in a while. Only regret not taking
more pictures, but hey, who wants to take the camera to the beach?
We might have to look into one of those undywater cams like PJs.

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Do What?

T & J will be here tomorrow...part of our nonstop guest action!
I don't know what we would do with ourselves if we didn't have
anyone here for a month? Pops is here next month and E&L the
following week? I think. Always fun to have family & friends in town...

This time we're going to spare T&J the suffering of the air mattress
(as recommended by Suzy) and let them enjoy the hard wood floors
(you've been warned!)...

Say What?

fun in the sun

all we did this weekend was play at the beach...
a little sun, sand, and surf. the water is finally warming
up so we were able to get some good swimming in.

Kisses

Happy Friday! What a busy work week, glad it's almost over...
K's working overtime today...diving! I get half a day today
so we plan on hitting the sun & sand for a bit this afternoon.

I had the stitches taken out tuesday and my lip is about
back to normal. normal enough to finally kiss cutie again!

the neighbors took this photo of me last week
bummin

And during our cleaning bonanza this week, we found two mans...

...might have to take em boogie boardin this weekend...

Oh, and I had the nicest phone call yesterday, made my day really

Sunday, August 10, 2008

One of my college roommates was in town for a convention
so we invited him out to A's B day party.

One of the nicest people you'll ever meet...Fernando!
